Thursday Evening Update

Julie spent the day in Chattanooga today with Lucinda and Joy. We have some good news. The angiogram came back completely negative, meaning there was no damage to the carotid artery. That means no blood thinners are necessary and that's a good thing.

John is running a fever, but they've found nothing to treat that might be causing it. It looks like that's just a symptom of the brain bleed and continued swelling.

John's nurse Donna is a character, and she's great at her job. She likes to keep secret questions to use to determine how with-it her patients are. She knew John liked talk radio, and she'd heard the girls talk about how he liked to
shout at the liberals, so when she wants to check on him sometimes she'll ask if he's a democrat. If he says yes then she knows that he's not really paying attention or he's still sleepy.

This morning she asked his name and he said, "John Dark". So she said, "Mr Dark would you vote for Bill Clinton for President?"

He said, plain as day, "We might have a problem."

That's the first time he's managed a whole sentence and its a really good sign.
